Brooke Munoz received her Master of Music degree with an emphasis in vocal performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music under the direction of Pamela Fry in May of 2011. She was the Graduate Assistant for the Musical Theatre department. She attended Sprague High School in Salem, Oregon, where she participated in concert choir and a select vocal jazz ensemble. Brooke has been in numerous Opera and Musical Theatre productions, including; Company (Joanne), The Magic Flute (Papagena), A Little Night Music, The Secret Garden (Mary), The Pirates of Penzance (Mabel), Man of La Mancha (Antonia), The Music Man, Bye Bye Birdie!, The Mikado (Yum-Yum), Urinetown! (Little Sally), Amahl and the Night Visitors (Amahl), Fiddler on the Roof (Chava), Snow White and the Seven Dwarves (Snow White), and as a member of the adult chorus in Carmen and La Bohème. She most recently performed in San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s Little Women (Meg), You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown! (Lucy) and Orpheus in the Underworld (Cupid). Brooke also performed in a continuous off-Broadway dinner show, Tony N' Tina's Wedding, playing multiple roles, which took place every weekend on Pier 39 in San Francisco.
Brooke sang with St. Paul’s Episcopal Church throughout High School and was asked to present a full recital as their annual Extraordinary Musician. She also appeared on AM Northwest, where she sang a Musical Theatre selection for one of their televised broadcasts. Her honors and awards include; being the featured young artist at the first annual Astoria Music Festival and Institute (an intense Opera workshop focused on German Lieder), where she was chosen to sing the finale solo. She was the first place winner in the District Solo and Ensemble Competition, and advanced to the State Solo and Ensemble Competition. Brooke received first place in the Musical Theatre Pre-College Division at NATS (the National Association of Teachers Singing. Brooke received first place at the Marion Country Fair Adult Talent Competition and then became the youngest first place winner of the Oregon State Fair Adult Talent Competition at the age of 16. She won the competition again in 2009.
Brooke has also studied film and television acting with Joie Landeaux, a professional film and theatre director from New York. She received the Pentacle Theatre Scholarship for acting and the Sprague High School Concert Choir Scholarship to further her educational aspirations in singing and acting. Brooke also studies linguistics and incorporates this into her music to gain a better understanding of cultural and traditional influences as well as correct pronunciation. Brooke has always had a passion for music and the arts and would love to perform with a professional Opera company or on Broadway. She is thankful for all the love and support of her family and friends.
